TIME was founded in 2014 with the distinct aim of bringing live performances to new, exciting venues and audiences and offering young and amateur musicians the chance to travel, form relationships through music and experience foreign cultures in a direct and innovative way.
TIME works in collaboration with Accademia San Felice Ltd, drawing from its extensive experience and vast network built up through fifteen years of organising festivals, tours, masterclasses and major EU collaboration projects for young musicians from all over the world.
TIME can organise concerts, tours, masterclasses, festival participation, cultural activities and social exchanges for all musicians and all budgets. We can also take care of your accommodation, travel and sight-seeing requirements and all of your musical and technical needs.
Tamsin Smith - founder and director
Tamsin graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford before moving to Italy in 2002, where she worked as assistant artistic director of the International Festival of Youth Orchestras and the World Sacred Music Week (Settimana di Musica Sacra dal Mondo). She has created and project managed several major European collaboration projects for youth orchestras funded by the EU and in 2005 founded the Provençal Festival of Youth Orchestras. Tamsin has also worked as a freelance concert coordinator for American choirs, orchestras and bands touring in France and the UK. She is a keen amateur musician and plays piano and accordion.
Ellie Mains - Production Assistant
Ellie studied English Literature at the University of Oxford, and after graduating in 2005 worked for the British Council as a native speaker English teacher in both France and Iceland. After returning to the UK, she trained as a primary teacher specialising in modern languages, and since leaving the field of education has begun working with tour groups from all over the world. A former chorister at Wells Cathedral, Ellie also has lots of experience as a touring orchestral and folk musician and plays flute, violin and singing. In her spare time she can usually be found growing her own on her allotment.
Andrea Cavallari - artistic director
Andrea Cavallari (American born, Italian rased), studied piano, composition, ethnomusicology and orchestra conducting. He is a music composer also very active as a visual artist. His compositions have been played in the most important cities in Europe and in major festivals such as the "Festival dei Due Mondi" in Spoleto, "Documenta" in Kassel, "Festival Ninety-seven" in Cincinnati, Ohio, "Jornadas de Musica del Siglo XX" in Segovia, and the Royal Festival Hall in London. Andrea Cavallari is "composer in residence" at the Frankfurt Kammeroper. His music has been recorded by Rivoalto (Italy) and Capstone (New York). He lives and works between Florence and London. His music is published by Verlag Neue Musik (Berlin).
